Become a Trainer

Surf Life Saving GB trainers play a vital role in building skills, confidence and capability across our clubs, communities and partner organisations.

Whether you are a club, an accredited training provider or an individual with the passion to teach, there are clear pathways to becoming part of our training network.

SLSGB Clubs Delivering Training

Surf Life Saving GB clubs are at the heart of our training delivery model.

Clubs can deliver training programmes supported by volunteers, helping members develop from beginner through to qualified lifesavers and beyond.

Clubs can:

  • Deliver structured SLSGB training pathways
  • Support youth and adult development
  • Provide practical training environments
  • Build local training capacity within their community

Club-based training is primarily volunteer-led and helps strengthen local skills, engagement and resilience.

Accredited Training Centres (ATCs)

Accredited Training Centres (ATCs) deliver Surf Life Saving GB training on a commercial basis, providing professional training opportunities for individuals and organisations.

ATCs work in partnership with SLSGB to deliver training that meets national standards while expanding access to courses across the UK.

ATCs can:

  • Deliver approved SLSGB qualifications
  • Offer commercial training courses
  • Support organisations and individuals seeking certification
  • Provide structured learning environments with qualified instructors

Accreditation ensures consistent quality and alignment with Surf Life Saving GB training frameworks.
