Surf Life Saving GB is on the lookout for passionate, confident and experienced Event Safeguarding Lead (ESL) to help deliver safe, inclusive and world-class events across the UK.
From high-energy beach championships to national pool competitions, you’ll be right at the heart of the action, ensuring every participant, volunteer and spectator is protected, supported and able to thrive.

Safeguarding isn’t just a requirement — it’s our golden thread. As an ESL, you’ll play a critical leadership role in embedding a culture of care, courage and accountability at every event.
What you’ll be doing:
- Acting as the lead safeguarding presence on-site
- Supporting safe, inclusive environments for children and adults
- Managing concerns with confidence, clarity and professionalism
- Working alongside event teams, clubs and safeguarding professionals
- Making real-time decisions that protect and support people
Where you’ll be:
Events take place across the UK — from Cardiff pools to Cornwall’s coastline — with travel and accommodation provided where needed.
