Our
Heroes of the Surf presentation is back and we are excited to celebrate our heroes of the 2023 season. We are asking you to nominate your unsung heroes for our Annual Awards evening on the 3
rd February 2024 at Sandy Park, Exeter. This is the first awards presentation we have held since 2019 so we are accepting any nomination from 2019 onwards!
All you need to do is submit the nomination, and our awards panel will assist and select the correct category of award.
Hero of the Surf Display of exceptional personal bravery in carrying out lifesaving rescue or activity.
Exceptional Lifeguarding skills The nomination is for those who have used their lifesaving knowledge and skills in challenging or difficult situations to preserve life.
Services to Lifesaving A volunteer who has displayed outstanding commitment and influence to lifesaving activity over a sustained period of time.
This is aimed at those who have an essential role supporting lifesaving including coaches, committee, fund raisers, referee, competition official and club support roles.
Life member Outstanding services to SLSGB on regional or national level over prolonged period of time (minimum service being 15 years).
Youth Lifesaver (under 18 yrs) This is awarded in recognition of a youth member who has displayed outstanding potential for lifesaving or a member under 18 years of age in recognition of outstanding contribution towards lifesaving (display of commitment to lifesaving).
Sport person in Lifesaving (adult) Outstanding contribution towards lifesaving sport.
Young sport person in Lifesaving (under 18 yrs) Outstanding contribution towards lifesaving sport.
There will be more than one award available in each category.
