Understanding the coastal environment and the risks within it
The Beach Environment Module is the first module in the Surf Lifesaving GB Lifeguard Qualification and can be completed as part of that qualification or as a standalone course.
It introduces learners to the key features, hazards and dynamics of coastal environments.
A strong understanding of the beach and surf environment is essential for effective lifesaving, prevention and decision-making. This module develops the knowledge needed to identify risks, assess changing conditions and promote safer behaviour around the coast.
