Sidmouth Surf Life Saving Club

SSLSC will provide children and young people aged 8 – 16 with participation and competitive opportunities in the sport of surf lifesaving.Improve water safety for young people in the community through lifesaving training and fun.

Life Saving Sport is a truly multi-disciplined sport which takes place in the pool, on the beach and in the sea. With close ties to swimming, athletics, kayaking, rowing, surfing and power boating, and all based on the equipment and skills of lifeguards. Surf Life Saving Sport competition is a fantastic display of athleticism and the ultimate test of speed and fitness.


Club Activities

The club will undertake the following activities:
Life saving education (beach and sea knowledge / first aid and lifesaving skills).
Beach events including beach sprints and
relays and beach flags.
Water activities including sea swimming, board paddling and rescue skills and ski paddling.
Achieving formal qualifications such as junior beach lifeguard awards and surf craft awards.
