North Norfolk SLSC started in 2008 with a small group of clubbies.
We opened our current clubhouse in 2012 and operate year round from this based on the seafront promenade in Cromer.
Our clubbies range from 7-70 and our training is split into two seasons.
Spring – Autumn where our juniors train on a Wednesday evening, our seniors on a Friday evening and a Sunday morning.
Winter – we have a Friday evening pool training session
Our clubbies groups are: Open (18+) Youth (12-18) and Nipper (7-11)
We host monthly Ocean-Man events and engage with our cousin clubs here in the East. We also take teams annually to the Eastern Regionals Championships and the National Open and Masters Championships and are looking to extend that to the regional and national pool events also.
Our club members are very active in supporting the club. Some raise funds, others have become Level 1&2 coaches as well as full SLSGB lifeguards. We have a wonderful club community and are thankful to the local businesses that support us year on year.
SLSGB is the officiating body for the UK beach lifeguarding qualification so if you have an interest in becoming a beach lifeguard then pop along for a session also!

Nippers
If you’re thinking of introducing your child to surf life saving, then nippers is the best place to do it.
Nippers is open to children from the age of 7 through to 12 years old. Surf life saving is an amazing activity for growing a child’s confidence, knowledge and skills in the beach environment. Not only will your child have fun and meet new friends but they will be taught basic surf safety and introduced to life saving practices and surf and beach sports. Nippers start learning about surf awareness and safety through the club. They are also able to participate in board paddling, surfing, swimming, running, wading and other fun activities and games. Practising these skills allows children to compete in club, regional and national surf lifesaving events representing the club.
Juniors
Juniors can expect to develop skills learned in Nippers, or if they are new to surf lifesaving, they can quickly catch up and earn awards that enable them to compete if they wish to. They will also learn to use the sea safely and develop all the skills necessary to save lives or even work towards qualifying as a lifeguard.
Juniors also can compete in regional or national competitions and many juniors go on to use their skills in jobs such as lifeguarding.
Seniors/Masters.
Senior members of 18 and above are able to use club equipment. They are also able to compete in regional, national and international competition. They may take qualifications to allow them to compete and can also take a range of qualifications in beach safety and rescue if they wish.
