The John Martin Memorial Award recognises competitive excellence across the full season — and in 2025, Woolacombe SLSC rose to the top.

Across youth, open and masters categories, Woolacombe athletes accumulated the highest total points of any SLSGB club. Their depth across disciplines — from pool to ocean events — demonstrated not just individual brilliance, but structured, club-wide strength.

Their achievement is especially significant given the competitive standard across British surf lifesaving. Consistency across events, age groups and championships reflects a culture of preparation, coaching quality and athlete commitment.
