Nicola Oliver has been integral to the growth and success of WSLSC for many years, shaping both its youngest members and its Masters section.

As a Nippers coach — and later Head Coach — Nicola helped establish structured, engaging sessions that developed skills while maintaining enjoyment and safety. Many of today’s confident youth and adult members first experienced surf lifesaving under her guidance.

She now serves as a committee member and manages administration for the Masters section, ensuring organisation and communication remain strong. Even in her mid-60s, Nicola continues to compete as a Masters athlete, regularly attending European Interclub competitions and representing her club with professionalism and pride.

Beyond competition, she actively supports new Masters members learning to ski paddle — passing on experience, technique and encouragement. Her conduct is consistently exemplary: professional, inclusive and supportive.

Nicola’s contribution spans coaching, competition, mentoring and governance — a combination that reflects true dedication to club life.
