6 crazy surf lifesavers from Bude attempt to swim from Dover to France!
Why I hear you ask?! Well apart from the fact that we love a challenge (not usually this big!) , we hope to raise awareness and money for a charity very close to our hearts – Talans Trust.
Talan died in May 2017 from Rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), a type of soft tissue sarcoma that grows in active muscles of the body. Talan was 19.
A surf club boy, who had just qualified as a beach lifeguard, he was both lovely & cheeky, never to be forgotten We are really rather terrified! Each in our own way but as we are swimming for Talan Penny there’s nothing to fear, not after what our brave Talan went through .
Talan’s Trust hopes to raise awareness of RMS and other childhood cancers and raise money for research into the disease Talan had.
